Compared to Windows 11 and the previous version of the system, splitting the screen for comfortable work with multiple applications is easier – you can easily divide the workspace using the system’s built-in tools.
Windows 11 has built-in multitasking options, enabled by default, which allow you to share your screen between multiple program windows.
Split screen:
- Move the mouse pointer to the ‘Expand’ button in the window title bar and select an area to place the current window in one of the available templates.
- Hold the window by its title bar and drag it to one of the corners of the screen or to one of the sides. In the second case, you will automatically be prompted to select another application from those open for use in the remaining part of the screen.
- By default, the screen is divided equally between the applications, but you can move the divider with the mouse to change the ratio.
- If you press Windows+Z on your keyboard when any window is active, a menu of available templates will open, and you can use the arrows to choose how to pin the current window.
- Pressing the Windows + Left Arrow or Windows + Right Arrow keys docks the window to the appropriate side of the screen. If you then press Windows + Up Arrow or Down Arrow, the window will be halved in size.
