How to fix "to try again enter a1b2c3"

Users are confronted with the message “To retry, enter A1B2C3 below” when logging into Windows. This message appears if the PIN code to log in is entered incorrectly several times.

If upon turning on your computer you find that you are prompted for A1B2C3, you should do so. You will then be asked to enter the normal PIN for that account.

If the situation repeats every time the unit is switched on, you can try the following options to resolve the problem.

Delete the PIN code, reboot and reinstall it:

  • Open Settings and go to Accounts.
  • Open the “Login options” section.
  • Expand “PIN” and press “Delete”.
  • Restart the computer.
  • After logging in with the account password, recreate the PIN in the same options section.
